“My mother was a great inspiration to me to always do my best”
~ Larry Fitzgerald Jr.
My Friend Carol
Carol enjoyed beautiful flowers yet she never had the chance to plant them at her own home.
Carol would be honored by this tribute. Carol was everyone’s best friend and care deeply for others. Carol’s community advocacy never stopped she had a hat in several arena’s that lack the voice of disparity in the African American community for women and men.
During her cancer treatments, she carried on as if nothing was going on with her. Carol continued to fight the battles for equality in the areas of funding, medical treatment and testing sites for breast cancer treatment. Carol encouraged and rallied the support group to expand its program. The Sistas retreat, spa days, and medical /nutrition information was such a benefit for all of us struggling through our own journeys. Carol was a best friend. I too joined the breast cancer sorority in 1999. Carol was shocked that we were both traveling the same path. They say having a “friend” by your side can make all the difference in the direction of your recovery. This was certainly true for me. I could of not of had a better person by my side to help me through the journey. Her love for her children, family, friends, and God were bonds that would not be broken. Carol was a great inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
Rest in Peace in your flower garden!!
Your Bestie,
Melanie
