Excerpt:

I am a 39 year old breast cancer survivor who never considered myslef at risk. I was healthy, young, and never thought that the bump and rash on my breast would be breast cancer. But a mammogram my doctor ordered showed a small tumor. I was shocked, but had a masectomy, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and a breast reconstruction.

Today, I’m doing fine and life is good. That’s my story, but chances are you know at least one African-American woman who has had breast cancer. Many women like me have won their battle against this disease; some have not. Sadly, the number of African American women that die from breast cancer is high even though we have lower incidence.

You can stay ahead of breast cancer by learning about it, getting the proper exams, tests, and treatments. Focus on your health and your life…because…
It’s All About YOU!
